Shoulder Pain: What You Need to Know About Rotator Cuff Tears
Last updated: 09 Eylül 2026
The rotator cuff is a covering formed by the tendons of four muscles surrounding the shoulder. A tear in this structure causes shoulder pain that seriously restricts daily life.
What Are the Symptoms?
Pain when raising the shoulder, discomfort that increases at night, difficulty lifting the arm, and weakness in the shoulder are the main symptoms of a rotator cuff tear.
How Is It Diagnosed?
MRI is the gold standard. Ultrasonography is a fast and economical alternative.
Treatment Options
While physical therapy and injections may be sufficient for small tears, arthroscopic surgery is the most effective treatment for full-thickness tears.
